Haha, I was so waiting for the whiteboard to bail. Anyway I think if a series has at least one common word then that in itself will help it stand out a bit more. Harry Potter of course is one of the best examples. Just recently I had a few customers asking about this one vampire series of books (not Twilight), and they didn't know they author but said Sookie Stackhouse books. Now my sis is watching a tv show that comes from the books and those all have the word Dead in the title. So if someone asks me about that without having almost no knowledge of the books themselves, I would know what they are talking about. Having similar titles for a series is a great idea. If it's a popular series, then most people will know what you are talking about.

Dale, what I particularly enjoy in that shows are not only good tips but also your way of presenting. You are very natural and spontaneous what adds a lot of value and credibility to the videos. Coming back to the topic, the series-type titles are particularly important to create fans for next books but they don’t necessary need to contain fixed words kept through the series, I think. A nice example is the Terry Pratchett’s Discworld series (fiction) which has different title for each book but in the edition I read, each book contains a word “Discworld” on the bottom part of front cover. Also all the covers have similar style and basically these two things (plus the author name, of course) are enough to recognize what a book is about.
