H Dalei, I found you on Twitter and have seen you around. I have been studying marketing for over a year now, own like 15 sites, started to write 4 books, yet have no technical know how! but this is no coincidence at all that I have found you! I just asked a friend earlier today how to create my own audio online, so it is nothing less than divine intervention that had led me here. Someone twitter asked to be my friend and I saw you in his friends, decided to check you out and GOT MY QUESTION OF THE DAY ANSWERED! Thanks so much for the free info, I really appreiate it! How do I sign up to get everything from you?

    YOU ROCK!

Another great episode Dale. Thank you.
My brother is a DJ and has offered to do some recording of my book with me.
My partner and I are also looking at doing a meditation CD and this would be an ideal way to start.

    Thanks again,

    Kevin Mc
  • This is a great primer for newcomers to DIY audiobook recording. Dale, another way authors are now building their author platform is recording their work and distributing them for free as serialized podcasts. I'm one such author, and have grown a thriving fan base (and scored two book deals) using this method.

Google "podiobooks" to learn more about this disruptive, progressive distribution model. Thanks for the excellent "101" video!

What a great video and great ideas!

    Thanks, Dale
  • You are welcome Alejandra. Dale
  • I have a Samson CO1U USB studio condenser mic. It was around $80.00 US just a few weeks ago on Amazon. I also downloaded Audacity. It is really interesting. It allows you to insert intro and exit music (or other .wav files).

I've not recorded a book, but I have begun podcasting. I can record a segment, stop, record a new segment. Add them together, strip out the "umms" and "uhhs". It's great!

You are just full of ideas!
  • Thanks for that info. I am sure it will be very valuable for people. Dale

FINALLY, I get the first comment. Good ideas there Dale, gave me some interesting ideas for audio books. One problem though. From 7:35- 8:42 the sound drops totally out in the episode. Might want to look into that. I'm sure I missed some good info :(
  • Yes you are right Connor. Very weird. Don't know what happened there. OK, we are going to it that fixed. It is going to take us a couple of hours to re-do and then re-upload the video, so maybe come back tomorrow to see what you missed.

    Apologies for this error.

    Dale

No worries, just glad we caught it early eh. I thought maybe it was a joke at first cause the episode was audio related. I'll be back tomorrow to get the rest. Now I'm off to bed, so goodnight and good luck.
