  • Dale,

Cheers for your detailed 'dissection' of the back cover content, as I'm about to do a cover design. Your experience shows and having just discovered your vault of videos, I'm learning heaps!

I read a statistic that the average person spends 4 seconds looking at the front cover, and 11 seconds reading the back cover. If anyone is serious about selling more books, this is required reading...or watching...;)

  • That's awesome. I'm very glad you posted this. So i have just given it a Digg :)
  • I'm about to send my book to the printers. I included two RRP on my back cover. One is in AUD $ because I'm in Sydney and the other RRP is in US $ for international sales. I would love to hear your thoughts on this of the advantages and disadvantages.
  • Very timely, as I was in the process of cover design, but question: What bar-code format should be elected? There are over a dozen to chose from... 3-of-9, code 128, etc.
  • Ummm, don't want to give you the wrong advice here because I had someone else get them all for me. But if you ask the Agency what is the difference, I am sure they will help you out. Dale

Hi Dale, loving your videos! Great content in this one and some really important tips. I had never thought of the call to action thing! It makes perfect sense to give the reader direction. Am finding myself taking SO many notes when watching these episodes. Thanks for your knowledge.
  • Thanks for your positive comments. Yes calls to action on Book Covers are VERY important. Keep tuning in for more :-)

Hmmmmm. The audio hum is annoying. Your content is too good to be defaced by the noise.
(Please don't post this comment, Dale. It's for your eyes only. Thanks.)

    Hi Dale
How do you fix the stop start all the time 10 secs on 30 secs to load up then another 10 secs
    how can you fix it
    Regards Frank
  • That happens because the download from server is slower than the watching capability. Its not caused by this site. If you have ADSL, it usually happens. Try this-hit the pause button and allow the download to happen. You will see the download happening by watching the minutes bar at the bottom. Once the whole movie has been downloaded, click on the play button and watch the whole. I have cable dsl and this problem does not happen. Good luck!!

  • Thanks for your assistance here Owen. REALLY appreciate it. Dale

Great video for non-fiction books, but is there going to be any videos for fiction book covers? I'm sure there would be quite a difference between the two and since I'm writing a fiction story, I hope to see info on that at some point. Looking forward to it.
  • yes Connor I am going to be interviewing a few Fiction writers in the near future. so I will ask them about tips for Fiction book covers!
  • Gilbert
