YES! This is so helpful! Its really hard to get published when you're younger than 12, so I really try my hardest to find a publisher.

So many points in this interview ring true with me! Having this community of writers, etc. at my fingertips has been very reassuring. As I said after episode #001, "when the student is ready, the teacher appears." (old Chinese saying.)

Thank you both ~ Joyce from Canada

    Very positive episode! Thanks
  • Wow! She seems so very real. I know that sounds odd, but many of the authors I've heard (not here) sound very -- well, snooty. Like they have "arrived" but I have not. I enjoyed hearing her story.

Hi Robin, Thanks so much for your comment - and I am definitely real!
I also found the literati very scary and it stopped me writing for years. But now I am getting into the industry I think it is a veneer put up by some to protect themselves. Most of the people I am now meeting and talking to on the blogs are wonderful!
I think I also changed my definition of what success was - I wanted a book on Amazon and that is an achievable goal!
  • Great interview guys. I love Joanna's work. This one really put my mind at rest about the couple of typos I found in the final proof of my novel. I felt so bad about letting it go like that but I feel much better now. Looking forward to the next interview with Joanna. Thanks so much for all the valuable info.
  • TheCreativePenn
Thanks Karen. Don't worry about those typos - there are loads in Stephenie Meyer!
  • Thanks Karen for your comment. Yes more great info to come :-)
  • Taminator
She mentions www.bookpal.com.au for Australia, they seem to do Print on Demand and also get your books into Amazon.com...thanks for the tip!
  • TheCreativePenn
    Thanks for the video Dale!
It was great fun - and thanks for the comments guys.
