  • I'm interested to hear your response to Alina's question:
How can you convince a sponsor to cover some of the book launch event costs?
Are your answers posted somewhere I can't seem to find?

    Thanks for your helpful suggestions!

Thank, you know I've been googling for the last few days and there's not much out there regarding how to run a good fun book lanuch and you've given me some great ideas. Mine's in a couple of weeks I'm trying out the short play if I can get someone game enough to do it. I'll definitely be posting on my blog how it goes to help others. Sharon

I have a book launch in the works now for my novel, JPAC the Last One Out. Your video has included very helpful hints and will certainly add to the overall "show".
One thing I have done is to paint 8 posters in photoshop depicting scenes and characters from the book. The main characters were painted on a 'movie poster' type storyboard which has been a great aid in generating interest in the book. Some individual characters have then been clipped out and posted to my twitpic, facebook, myspace pages to bring the story to life.
    Thanks for the helpful hints!

All I wanted was to be first once Tommy, and I have done it ;). Some great ideas for a book launch in this episode. I'm quite interested to see what a virtual book launch would be like. Sounds like a neat idea.
  • Great insights, Dale. I'm doing a mailing to potential, bulk users, and hadn't thought of signing them or adding a bookmark (with info on how to order more, or in bulk). Thanks!

As i look down the right hand side of your web page i see the different episodes starting with Terry Hawkins and finishing with the pizza then back up again to the large screen. i'm starting to think your not running episodes but a serial. I feel it is a serial killing too. Come on compare the happy happy plant in Terry's episode with the sad scribbled scroungy drofed leafed orphan looking unloved behind the white board. Have fun you are doing us all good out here.
GIVE YOUR HAPPY PLANT SOME WATER SOON!

Hi Dale! Michelle Bowden here! Thanks for speaking so generously about my book DON'T PICTURE ME NAKED! If any of your viewers would like to buy a copy they can go to www.michellebowden.com.au and I'd love to hear from them. Your words are as always so helpful - and as you mentioned so timely - I didn't think of clip boards for people to use for filling in the order forms! And I will offer an incentive for a box of books now that you've suggested it so thank you! By the way - another thing you can do is go to a beautiful wholesale stationer and get book bags with handles that match the colour of your book - so that people are all walking around with beautiful (but inexpensive) bags containing their book purchase!
