WOW, awesome episode Dale. Those 6 steps can be very powerful in just going through life, no matter what you are doing. Being personal with people instead of doing the bare minimum can help develop relationships quickly. One example I've seen in working in a bookstore is learning peoples names and using them. It helps create a connection and more over time. I'm definitely going to come back and rewatch this episode again. Great, great advice here. Thanks again.
  • Thanks Conner. Great idea about "learning peoples names and using them". Tell me a little more about the book that you are writing... Dale

Well my book is a fantasy. Connor is actually the name of the main character, not my actual name ;). I have the usual fantasy elements: magic, dragons, fairy type people, massive battles (hopefully some good battle ideas that haven't been done yet), and the obvious good vs evil struggle. There's a lot of dark parts in the series, a good chunk of which happens through the main characters.
Some parts are from life experiences and some are just going to be things I wish I had the ability to do. I'm thinking of having the series between 9 and 12 books or so. Need to get the plots figured out first to see how many story lines will happen. A lot of my great ideas happen in the later books, and I can't wait to write them! Anything else you would like to know, ask away :)
  • I have a few short stories ready to publish. How do I go about to do that?

  • Ah networking, my worst nightmare. I'm one of those writers who is still coming to terms with the fact that you can't just sit in a quiet corner and write. You have to get out there and connect with people. Andre has some great info here. It's still scares the daylights out of me but I'll keep coming back to this episode when I need a bit of a confidence boost. Thanks so much Dale and Andre.
