And that marketing can go go beyond just self promotion and books.
It starts to spread credibility, notoriety and publicity.
It allows people to connect on another more human level with the person.

I really liked that tour idea with the author. Going to another country and seeing what inspires them. Very good. I know when i get into a good book series I like, I tend to go out and look up things about the author. Like this one book series, the author got his philosophy from this one woman back in the 50's and she has quite a large following. So naturally I went and bought a few of her books to see the background ideas for his books. I don't know if many people are like that or not but I'm sure there are a few out there. I just like seeing where and how people get their views on life and ideas for stories. Maybe someone someday will wonder the same about me.
